They are also appreciative of arrangements for new pupils: boys have settled in quickly and communication with parents is seen as a strength. Staff are readily available to speak with parents as needs arise, and the administrative team warmly welcomes visitors, reflecting the family feel of the school.’
The opening of our new Boys’ Junior School in September 2013 has been a major and very successful development for Wykeham House. The boys successfully moved into their new building and were joined by our first group of seniors in September 2014. Whilst Wykeham House has previously taught boys, the School became just girls some 40 years ago.
The Boys’ School has been developed in response to parental requests for a similar nurturing environment for boys as our present Girls’ School. The Boys’ School is being set up with the same aims and ethos as the present very successful Girls’ School and the boys will have similar opportunities and experiences. They are being taught in single sex classes to give the very best opportunity to teach the boys in the way they learn but there will be co ed clubs and trips.
You will find our new Boys’ School to have a happy environment where friendships once made will last a lifetime and where learning is a stimulating experience. We believe that education is a partnership between home and School in which the values and ambitions of each reinforce the other.
